Curaleaf shares surged nearly 6% Tuesday, outperforming the broader market, following a German study highlighting positive outcomes from recreational cannabis legalization. The Federal Institute for Public Health found youth consumption declined post-legalization, while adult use ROSE moderately.
The data showed marijuana use among 12-17 year olds dropped from 6.7% to 6.1%, with frequent use in this group falling to 1.1%. Conversely, consumption rose among 18-25 year olds from 23.3% to 25.6% between 2023-2025. These findings strengthen the case for regulatory reform in Germany and other markets considering legalization.
